I Remember-Poem From “The Root” A Compilation of Poetry

I remember the love.

I remember the light in your eyes.

I remember the stars.

I remember never being scared.

I remember knowing that you’d always be here.

I remember being happy.

I remember once having a reason to live.

I remember giving all that I have to give.

I remember before all of this I was strong.

I remember giving up because I could no longer go on.

I remember pretending life would no longer be right.

I remember the long talks at night.

I remember the laughs, the good ol’ days.

I remember your promise to love me in so many ways.

I remember going to sleep with a smile on my face.

I remember believing I could never be replaced.

I remember your kiss, I remember your touch.

I remember your promise to never give up on us.
