In my eyes to be free is to walk in a place of peace. Freedom to me means to know wholeheartedly that God is with you and He is for you, therefore insignificance and failure are irrelevant to you. Very often I dwell in a place of reflection. I often think about where I came from and how far I’ve come since I’ve elevated from my past. It serves me well to know that I’ve changed for the better. It serves me well to look back and know that I’ve grown past certain habits, mindsets and emotionally draining situations.
One of things I struggled with most was living for myself and making decisions based on what I felt was right. I rarely ever waited on God to make decisions in my life. I rarely trusted His plan for me, I was so lost. I spent years living as someone I was not. I spent years hiding from or running from the person I was called to be. I knew that calling on God to seek internal change meant work. Consecrating my life unto God while trusting HIS process meant sacrifice, was I ready?
The truth is, I knew when I was pretending. I knew when I was hiding behind a mask. I still know when I am not being true to form or truly being myself. I know that when I’m experiencing feelings of self-alteration I am lacking His presence. I am lacking full reliance on Him and His promises. The most important aspect to being ourselves and becoming who we are called to be is God. Without him we are merely lost souls in borrowed vessels searching to feel a sense of belonging. Do we desire to be free or do we want to forever feed the fleshly desires of our borrowed vessels ignoring the life God intends for us?
I’ve struggled, as we all have. There is nothing I desire more than my freedom. How can one be free operating as someone who they are not? How can one be free devoting themselves to a life that they were never created to live? We do ourselves a disservice when we become and do all of the things that make us happy without questioning if it’s all apart of Gods plan. Today I encourage you all to seek freedom. I encourage you all to stop living for the things and people of this shallow world. A true act of self-love is honoring yourself enough to be who you truly are, not who you want to be or who you think people will love. Be who you are. Seek freedom. The only way to escape true flesh like strong holds is to become one with God spiritually. Self-love is dedication. How dedicated are you? How bad do you want to be free? Love yourself enough to be free to become who He’s called you to be, not who you think you should be.
Be Inspired. Be Encouraged. Be Blessed.
